CAD Designer - Morton, Illinois


Design cooling systems and components for various off-highway/commercial/industrial equipment. Integrate the physical design requirements (structural, thermal, space) and manufacturing aspects to produce designs that meet all applicable customer requirements for the form, fit and function. Originates and develops ideas to design the form of manufactured products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following, other duties may be assigned.

  • Pro-actively work with customers, engineering and manufacturing staff to prepare electronic sketches, drawings and other technical documents.
  • Reads publications, attends showings, and consults with engineering, marketing, production, and sales representatives to establish design concepts.
  • Evaluates design ideas based on factors such as appealing appearance, design-function relationships, serviceability, materials and methods engineering, application, budget, price, production costs, methods of production, market characteristics, and customer specifications.
  • Integrates findings and concepts and sketches design ideas.
  • Presents design to project engineer and discusses need for modification and change.
  • Designs products, product packaging and graphics for advertising utilizing CAD systems.

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in automated drafting and 3-D Modeling CAE systems required. 3D modeling and strong drawing skills a must. Experience with PTC Creo preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with design, engineering and/or fabrication of heat exchanger and related components preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach for generating new ideas.
  • An excellent grasp of engineering and design principles.
  • Travel will be required (Domestic and International)
  • Experience working in KULI a plus.

Education and/or experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in engineering field from four-year college or university.
